The Outer Rim

Is purported to be self-contained, but is a mismash of solar systems and spacial phenomenon. Pirate coves, independent idiots and barbaric societies are said to exist there, but finding someone who's come from the Outer Rim is a very rare one indeed. Their planets don't seem to travel space much, but are known to possess spelljamming ability.

Inasmuch as this is an enclosed sphere, the systems of the Outer Rim reside at the 'bottom' of the balloon below the nebulas. This is still an incredibly vast area of wildspace and because all things orbit, all points of interest are reachable in the 2d6 days, like the Alteri end of space.

Nebula Orion (red) is the easiest route of the 3 nebulas. It can empty into most any part of the Outer Rim, as the systems circle in their own area, a bulbous crescent of shape.

General info from Gunther: As in the Alteri system, 2d6 days to reach any particular system while inside the Outer Rim. This area has no main fleet or protective authority. However, the gold dragons have been known to 'keep the peace'.

Only the space faring folk participate in 'parlay', which seems the case more for barter than credits. However the pirates do keep an economy going between systems. They do not hunt in their back yard. And know the route in Orion very well. Space farers are there but are hard to find. They're not easy to give trust, as they're very well aware of the stellar undead and the most cautious usually have a way to detect undead.

Humans are on almost any planet, but unless its on a civilized planet, they are uneducated. Planets in red can't/don't spelljam

1. LongAgo: Prehistoric planet; troglodites. The humans here are very stupid. They fight with the trogs and the trogs fight with them. They've been at it for a long time.
2. Birka - Barbarians! not advanced enough to spelljam, but they know of it. Occasionally they hire out. Rough society. Rough terrain. Mountaineous to hilly areas, home of the giant goats. Fiefdoms are the general rule of thumb. Each settlement can be from 25 to 150 people. There have been a number of warlords but the society is such that they prefer their own company.
3. Shalee - Classic Samuri, mixed races, oriental combat. This has a large human population. L/N
4. Grok - Stellar Lizard men, swamp and jungle. Hadozee live here.
5. Tortuga - As with any pirate port of call, its nature is dubious at best and murderous at worst.
6. Creashon -  Beholders
7. Thumbraat - Dragons - the Dracon race is here
8. Dark World - This world has no outside ecosystem with no atmosphere. However, there are two races underground.
9. Gunther - classic medieval, but much spelljamming, Scro are here.
*10. Krakatoa - giants giants and more giants. With Goliaths
*11. Tibrah - Aperusa: this is not a 'system', inasmuch as it has no revolving planets. It does have an asteroid belt with and without oxygen.  Tibrah is very colossal space station, crafted magically that orbits around this sun. They pretty much mind their own business.
*12.  The world of Sanmarkan - fiefdoms mark the planet's surface and underground. Very Persian in architecture, customs, manners. This world has a large human population.

* planets purportedly crew does not want to go to.
